McGill Blog and Stuff

"Art is anything you can get away with." – Marshall McLuhan

The purpose of this blog is to demonstrate the pedagogical value of music in the sex education classroom, particularly sexualized music, songs, and music videos. Genres will include Hip Hop, Rock, Pop, and Country. The intent of the assignment is to gain a critical insight into the use of music in the classroom in a sex ed context, but this blog will focus more on my personal account of issues raised in EDER 626 Summer 2016 at McGill University, such as consent, legal issues, and sexism/misogyny, as depicted in the songs’ lyrics and music videos. A critical analysis will be established in my accompanying essay.
